I may just stay up all night and write. I usually write better in the middle of the night. I don't know why, but my brain just works better in the night. If I can't sleep tonight, I may just get up and write until five or six in the morning.
My problem isn't a shortage of ideas. Book 6, 7, and 8 are all planned out (with room for minor additions), I have book 6 planned out completely, my problem is just in my writing. I get dissatisfied with how I've worded things or whether I introduced something too soon and should put it off a bit, then delete it, etc. That type of thing.
Usually the best thing that helps me with writer's block is to take a break from it, watch TV, go for a walk, play piano, go for a drive, etc and then when I get back to my laptop, the story just flows easily.
I'm confident that tomorrow will be an easier writing day!
Thanks for all the storyline suggestions. I hadn't really considered bringing some old characters back until a faithful reader suggested it (thank you :) and I realized that it is a good idea to bring Katie back, so she'll be back in book 6!
Also, the series will be never ending (until there are no book sales, at least).
Thank you for all your comments!
Ugh! I'm having such a hard time writing today! I can't seem to concentrate and my writing sucks! So far my writing has basically been: write, delete, write, write, write, delete, delete, cut out several paragraphs, start over, write, write, delete. Ugh!
I'm wondering if it is because my brain had been prepared to write The Dance and I'm trying to write DOTM # 6.
OR, I suppose it could be because today I decided to try to give up caffeine! Not a good day to give up caffeine! Ugh.
Someone thought it would be a great idea for me to write an autobiography, at least about my writing life. I'm pondering the idea, but I really don't think my life is that interesting that people would want to read my autobiography. I'll think about it and if there's enough of an interest, I may work on it after I get out: DOTM # 6 , Teen Millionaire book 2 , The Dance, Brothers of Atlantis, and For The Kingdom.
I'll add a question to my surveys about it and see what the overall response is. If you guys want it, I'll write it, if not, I'm just as happy to keep writing what I'm writing :)
Meanwhile, I've been working all week long on this trailer. I had no idea that making machinima actually took as much time as live action filming!!! I've been filming scenes all week, checking the dailies in the morning (cos I cannot check them while I have the sims game running), once that is done, I have to do the editing and that is going to be as long a process as editing a live action movie, so I think I may hold off on the trailer for the teen millionaire series until I get the next few books up. It has been driving me crazy that I've had to put off my writing this week. I thought the video would only take me one, two days tops!!
Yesterday I spent the day in the city helping Jy move. It was raining so hard, that on our drive out of the city, a section of the road was flooded (about a foot deep of water) ...while worrying how deep the water was and whether we could make it through it, the other part of my mind (the part that wasn't worrying) was working a flood into one of my next books. That's just the way my mind works. :)
Meanwhile, I talked to Jy about playing Tank Bannister if we film Diary of A Teenage Mom next summer. He said yes. Of course a lot can change between now and then, but at least he is agreeable to it (at this point in time).
I'll try to find a picture of Jy where he could pass as Tank.
Anyway, I'm still working on the Diary of A Teenage Mom book 1 video trailer. That is taking forever. I'm trying to make it with sims 3. I have all the sets built and the draft script written and I tested out filming last night and got a few shots and I think this is going to work out great!!
So, my plans for today are to finish the script, answer a bunch of letters from readers (it really brightens my day when I get letters from readers), and then start filming the scenes. Tomorrow I'll record the voice overs, do the vocal animation, and then edit the video tomorrow and Friday.
As far as my books, here are my writing plans and projects:
1. Book trailer for Diary of A Teenage Mom book 1
2. Book trailer for Teenage Millionaire book 1
3. write a book called The Dance (I've already got 1000 words written on it and this is going to be a GREAT book! )
4. Write Diary of A Teenage Mom book 6
5. Write Teenage Millionaire book 2
6. Finish writing Brothers of Atlantis (sci fi fantasy paranormal book)
7. Write For The Kingdom (sci fi fantasy paranormal book)
I plan on getting all of this done before the end of October!!! The amazing thing is that I'm so full of creative energy and when I am in the writing mood I can write an entire book in one week!!!
I was up until 5 a.m. because of all this creative energy. Thanks to ADD, I was writing on The Dance while building the sets for the book trailer for DOTM # 1
Okay, I must:
finish the script
answer email from readers (yay! The highlight of my day :))
film the trailer
write another chapter in The Dance
record voice overs (probaby around 3 a.m.)
So much to do, so little time. It's a good thing that when I'm working on my books, or book related stuff, time is relevant!
Have a great day everyone!! :)
Now that book 5 is out, I'm working on making a video book trailer for book 1 this week! I'm attempting to make it with sims 3 so we'll see how that works out. I'm trying to get as much done as possible today because tomorrow I have to go to the city to help Jy Trigg move (check out his website, www.jytrigg.com ) By the way, I'll announce here as soon as I know when the movie Lizzie Borden is coming out, Jy is in that and they finished filming at the end of July but I have no idea when that will come out. Christine Ricci stars in it. I'm not much for a movie about a woman that kills both her parents, but I will watch it, only because Jy is in it.)
So, I'm working 8 hours today on this trailer. I've cut a script from the book manuscript and getting ready to further cut it to a trailer script. And I've got a few of the sims characters chosen. I'll hopefully get this finished by the end of the week.
As soon as that is up and posted, I'm going to be writing book 6, marathon style, starting Friday night at midnight and going all weekend, day and night, with just breaks for naps, but eating at my computer (maybe) ... and I'll be updating my blog every hour during the writing process so that you guys can all follow along on my progress. I'm also thinking of filming it and then afterwards putting it out as a video (for like $2) on the making of a book. I'll include everything in the video, even the parts where I periodically pull out my hair in frustration LOL. (just kidding, I seriously don't pull out my hair lol)
Hope everyone is enjoying book 5. Thank you so much for being so loyal to the series. I'm thinking of putting out a new cover on book 1. (What do you guys think about that??)
I'm so excited about book 6 coming up, and as I said, book 6 is going to be twice, or even three times, as long as book 5. :)
Okay, I must get back to work on the trailer now. Lots of work!!
Next summer, book 1 may be being produced as a movie and Jy Trigg MIGHT possibly play Tank. Not sure ... I haven't even asked him yet but I'll ask him tomorrow when I help him move. Maybe I'll just call and ask him now.
Okay, seriously this time, back to work for me! :))
It's available now on Kindle! Here's the link:
Book 5 hasn't even been released yet by Amazon and I'm already finished the outline for book 6!! Book 6 is going to be three times as long as book 5. It's going to be the longest book I've ever written! But, it will also be the most exciting! For those of you that love the shorter books, I do hope that you'll like book 6 because it is definitely going to take more than just one day to read. For those of you that have been asking for the longer books, you'll be happy with book 6!!
I'm looking forward to your feedback on book 5! I keep checking and it's still not up yet!
I stayed up and got Book 5 uploaded to Kindle at 5 a.m. (Atlantic time)! It usually takes 12 hours for them to be available on Amazon so it should be ready by 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. Eastern time at the latest!
I'm so excited about Book 6 and I'm actually going to start that this evening! A lot of fun things will be going on in Book 6 and I'm anxious to get started. I don't expect to have the problems in book 6 that I had in book 5. It should be easy sailing!!
While I'm writing book 6, I'll update my blog every hour. I will probably start this evening and I'll let you know when I get started. :)
Yay! I'm finished! I'm uploading to Kindle now and it should be live by Sunday morning! Here's the cover!!
I appreciate everyone's patience so much!
Book 6 will be longer, and I will write it in a 48 hour marathon on a weekend and keep everyone posted every half hour or every hour!! I may even do it on video, not sure yet!
I'll post here as soon as book 5 is available on Kindle!
