I apologize to each and every one of you dear, loyal readers. I know DOTM 8 was supposed to be out a year ago. I am so sorry. It is on the way, though. Here are some of my issues with it:
DOTM is going to be the end of the DOTM series (gasp!) but the BEGINNING of the Emma's Life series! (Yay!) Emma isn't really a teenager any longer and I'd like to give her a fresh new start in her series. So from now on, Emma's story is going to be the Emma's Life series. So, book 8 of DOTM is ALSO book 1 of Emma's Life. Same book but two different episodes in two different series.
The title of the book is called Changes. The cover design is still up in the air because so far there hasn't been a cover design that seems to be a good transitional cover. First choice was a totally white cover with a pink ribbon around the corners and the title. That was it, but it seemed too empty. It was supposed to signify a fresh start, clean slate, etc. But it just seemed too blank to me.
So, here is a challenge for my readers: What do YOU think would be good to have on the cover? What would you like to see? Without giving out spoilers, I'll just say Emma's life is going to totally change in nearly every single way...turned upside down...but I'm not going to tell you how or why or how she copes with it.
So...do you guys have any ideas for what would be a nice cover?
A note on more transitions this book involves: Not only is it the transitional book between DOTM book 8 and Emma's Life book 1...but I'm planning on writing the Emma's Life series under my pen name, Emily Ann Jones-Parker. (What do you guys think of this? Are you okay with it? If I get enough feedback that insists I do not write the next series of Emma with my pen name, then I'll feel obligated to stick with my own name.)
Also, Emma's Life book 1 is going to come out in paperback as well as Kindle, so for those of you that love paper books, you'll be able to get that as well.
In other news, and totally unrelated, while working on the finalizing of DOTM # 8/ Emma's Life # 1, I've been working on creating a video game. Not a shooter kind of game but more like a Sims type of game. The more I learn, the more I realize that building a video game takes a long, long time so it might be two years before my video game is finished.
So, please know that I appreciate all your feedback, ideas, and emails. I try to answer every single email, so if for any reason you have written to me and not received a response...please let me know in a comment here and I'll try to find the email.
Hope everyone is having a great winter so far! Next week I'll try to post the book cover...please send feedback, this book seems to be the hardest book ever to come out!!!
I love you all!!
