Stay tuned . . .
I've finally gotten my system organized and new blog posts will be coming out every Friday morning! For sure. Guaranteed. I already have this week's written.
Stay tuned . . .
I've been busy working on my new series Bridgeport. Although the main characters are brand new, I'm going to be working in a lot of the characters from my DOTM series. Even Emma may make an appearance occasionally. The characters from my old series that will have more of a focus in this series are Ethan and his family and Tank. All the other characters are brand new.
The main character is Delaney Page and she inherits a publishing company when her father dies, which is the catalyst for her moving to Bridgeport, reuniting with her estranged brothers, battling her father's first wife for control of the company, and sorting out her relationship with her previously 'perfect' fiance.
I'm excited about the characters and it will be good to see Ethan again! He has been hired at the publishing company on the day Delaney's father dies. Tank fits in by writing a book and becoming one of the company's authors.
The new ensemble of characters are exciting and are what get me out of bed each morning and anxious to write! I love my life!
In other news, not much has been happening. I've just been doing some freelance work, suffering from migraines for the past ten days, and (as usual) trying to get organized. I don't know if being a writer makes chaos a criteria, but no matter how hard I try, I always seem to be disorganized. I'm like the mad professor of writing. But writing brings me peace and joy, so I know that's my destiny.
Have a great week, everyone! I'll try to force myself to be back here on Friday!
Also, I do not keep emails from contact forms or anything and I never send out sales emails because I hate them myself. This blog is just a way for me to connect with my readers and get feedback on my books and characters, etc.
To be honest, I'm not a cookie expert so this post is not going to be very informative in that regard.
Have a great weekend!!
So . . . I'm working on building my own film production company so I can produce my own scripts. I've cast 90% of my first sitcom pilot and about 2% of the one-hour drama script I have. I'm working towards filming the sitcom pilot this summer and it will be available on Amazon Prime Video. Once I get the full season done, I will pitch it to Netflix (they only look at entire seasons at once).
So, working on this stuff in the background over the past year is what made DOTM 10 take so long to get finished. I think DOTM 10 took me about two years to write, which is unusual. I can usually write a book in a month.
So, I'm looking forward to this new phase of my life, and I may even pitch the DOTM series to networks and see what they think. If it gets ordered, I'll definitely keep you guys up to date on what's happening. I am very excited about this new phase I'm moving into.
Let's read DOTM 10 together!! I'm on my Facebook page today and let's all read DOTM 10 together, posting where we are in the book from time to time and updating the post with what you guys think so far as you read it.
You can take part in the discussion on my Facebook Page ...just click the picture!
Book 10 is NOW available in the Kindle store!!
When Emma is abandoned by her husband, she has to move back with her parents to give birth to twins. As she pines away for Lance, the love of her life, she decides to make her family her first priority. Getting a regular job isn't as easy as she expected and when a handsome coworker lives right next door, is it worth waiting for someone who she may never get? Or is it just possible to have it all?
As far as I know, this is the final cover for Dotm book 10! It all seems so final, but I have enjoyed writing this book in the series even more than all the others. This one has brought me far more satisfaction.
It will be available in the Kindle store on Monday!
I am finally finished book 10 of the DOTM series. I have to rewrite a few scenes, not many, and I expect the book will be available on Kindle next week.
This is the final book in the DOTM series and I am so sad at saying goodbye to these characters. I've been writing this series for a long time and now it seems like saying goodbye to old friends.
I think readers will be extremely happy with the ending, because I know I am. Emma finally gets to be with the one she's meant to be with. The one she will live happily ever after with.
Wow! I hadn't realized I'd been gone from my blog for an entire year! Thank you to everyone who has been patiently waiting my return. I promise I'll do better.
So, here's what's been going on in my life in the past year! I've been slowly (I repeat, slowly!) working on book 10 in the DOTM series and have started Katie in the City a dozen times.
Meanwhile, I wrote and rewrote a pilot script for the DOTM series, but alas, that has not taken off and I doubt it will happen any time soon. That is a little disheartening, but it is only not on the back burner for a moment, I will be sending the script out to agents sometime. I want to say in the next few weeks but that would really turn into the next few months, so I'll just say in the next few months.
Other than that, I enrolled in film school last fall and I was sure I'd updated my blog about that, but maybe I hadn't. I think I did post it on my facebook page though. I think there is a link on my homepage to my facebook page.
In other news, I've also been working on a course for people looking to break into background acting, but that is a long way from being finished.
I am going to be writing more adult series and I think I'm going to be using a new name to write those under. I'm thinking Delaney Page. I will have to start a website for Delaney Page unless I can change the name of this one or maybe just add a separate page for Delaney. I want to write my romance novels under a different name than all the books I've written for teens because I've also written a bunch of stuff for smaller kids too and I really want to have the genres separated.
I truly am so thankful for how loyal you guys are! Thank you so much for all the messages asking where I am. I am so anxious now to get back to work on DOTM 10 and for anyone interested--Lance isn't out of the picture yet!!
Also on the backburner (gee, my stove is getting full!) is a Paris book. Paris's book will start when she's 10 or 11 and that will be my new series (still under the name Elizabeth Ann Trigg).
If you guys have any preferences for when the Paris series will start (her age), just leave your ideas in the comments. If you would prefer her series to be when she's a little older, I can do that. I'm still a bit undecided as to how old she'll be. All I do know is her life will be a little hectic with traveling to spend time with her father and stepmom, dealing with her siblings and mother and grandparents and half-sisters at her dad's. Her life is complicated enough, and that's without even mentioning her school life and friends, enemies and frenemies! I am really looking forward to the Paris series!
Okay, now that I'm all fired up again, it's time to get back to work on DOTM 10! I still don't have a working title for that yet. It's changed a dozen times and so for now, it's still just DOTM 10.
Happy Monday! The paperback versions of the Diary of A Teenage Mom series are now available on Amazon! Yay! You can click on the picture and it will take you to the paperback version on Amazon. (They are also available on Barnes & Noble and other online retailers). Today I should be finished the screenplay for the Diary of A Teenage Mom TV pilot. I'm sure there will have to be many revisions before it becomes a reality, but here's to step one!! Wish me luck!
I am a Canadian novelist whose life is much more exciting inside my head.
